At first I thought of stepping back one generation to the rather more famous gun the Blackhawk family is unashamedly based on but then, as I got to thinking about it, I realized that there was even a step farther back that I could reasonably go.įortunately, the step before that I've already talked about, in the article from last year about early Colt percussion revolvers. As I was getting started on that, though, I realized that the history of the Super Blackhawk is such that it really should be part of a series. The other day, I sat down to finally get around to doing a Gun of the Week on my old Ruger Super Blackhawk that used to be my grandfather's.
